Join in the Hardy Locavore Challenge

The Cooperstown Farmers’ Market is offering a “Hardy Locavore” challenge to reward shoppers at its Winter Saturday Markets. By shopping 10 times at the farmers’ market between December 31 and March 25, people will receive a free cotton canvas box tote. The Cooperstown Farmers’ Market, located in Pioneer Alley at 101 Main Street in Cooperstown, is open 10 am to 2 pm on Saturdays year-round.

Winter Cooperstown Farmers’ Market vendors include ARK Floral, Arabeth Farm, Black Willow Pond Farm, Byebrook Farm, Chatty Wren Coffee, Crystal's Customs, Elk Creek Farm, Empire Natural Foods, Gaia’s Breath Farm, Heller’s Farm, Italian Cookie Home, Middlefield Orchard, Mountain View Dairy, Mill Hollow Maple, Nectar Hills Farm, Red Sky Homestead, RevSpirits, Rock Hill Farm, Sharon Springs Granola, Traveling Herb Farmer, Terracotta Republic, and Wildwoods Wood Turning.

“Winter is long here in upstate New York, but we want to remind locals that there is still a vibrant community of farmers and artisans producing throughout the cold months,” said Karrie Larsson, Market Manager at Otsego 2000. She explained that winter shoppers will find a plethora of root vegetables, winter greens, farmstead cheeses, grass-fed and free-range meats, local honey, homemade baked goods, handmade soaps and herbal products, artisan ceramics, handblown glass, CBD products, specialty foods, home goods, and much more.

Hardy Locavore punch cards are available at the welcome table at the Market. Once you make a purchase, bring the card to Karrie Larsson or a Farmers’ Market volunteer and they will note your participation.

The Cooperstown Farmers’ Market, founded and managed by Otsego 2000, supports local growers, farmers, food producers, and artisans and offers a direct connection to the consumer. The Cooperstown Farmers’ Market and the Cooperstown Lions Club have partnered to offer SNAP Match. SNAP Match enables customers to stretch their grocery dollars by doubling an EBT coin distribution (up to $15) with SNAP Match Vouchers.
