Cooperstown Holiday Stroll

The Cooperstown Farmers’ Market, a program of Otsego 2000, will have a special Holiday Market on Tuesday, December 19 from 3 pm – 7 pm. In addition, many Cooperstown retailers will have extended hours that evening to accommodate holiday shoppers. The Farmers’ Market also is open every Saturday in December.

Paula DiPerna: Pricing the Priceless

The Friends of the Village Library of Cooperstown and Otsego 2000 welcome noted Climate Policy Advisor and Author Paula DiPerna, for a talk about her new book, Pricing the Priceless: The Financial Transformation to Value the Planet, Solve the Climate Crisis, and Protect our Most Precious Assets. 

The one-hour program will be held in the Village Ballroom, 22 Main Street, Cooperstown and is free and open to the public.

Paula DiPerna is a pioneer and leader at the forefront of finance and climate policy. Currently, she is special advisor to CDP, the world’s only integrated environmental disclosure system. DiPerna was a founding member of Otsego 2000.

Walking Tour: Messages in Paint, Wood, and Stone

As part of Glimmerglass Film Days and the Otsego 2000 Historic Preservation Series, Dr. Cindy Falk will lead a walking tour exploring Cooperstown’s architectural landscape and searching for messages from the past. The tour will highlight signs, datestones, and makers marks as well as less explicit communications that are embedded in the local built environment. Free, please register in advance.

Dr. Falk, a professor of material culture at the SUNY Oneonta Cooperstown Graduate Program, served as co-editor of Buildings & Landscapes: The Journal of the Vernacular Architecture Forum for five years and is the author of Barns of New York: Rural Architecture of the Empire State.
