Cooperstown Farmers’ Market expands hours, adds vendors

Beginning May 7, the year-round Cooperstown Farmers’ Market will be open 9 am to 2 pm on Saturdays. These expanded hours will continue through December. The Market also will feature live music performances, starting with Dave Tish, who will perform 10 am – noon on May 7.

The Market’s 40 farmers, food producers and artisans are located within 50 miles of Cooperstown. New vendors include Alex’s Picnic, offering seasonal soups from local chef Alex Webster, and RevSpirits, offering craft spirits distilled from raw local honey. Vendors returning for the new season include: By the Handful (handheld fruit pies, pastries, turnovers, and vegan take-away meals), Ariginal Art (upcycled flatware and coin creations and unique jewelry), Girasole (New York State native trees, flowers, shrubs, fruits and berries, and wildlife boxes), and Mimikis & Dutchayr Fibers (hand-spun wool, hand-crafted soft toys and wearables, wool and fabric housewares). 

“I’m excited to see the Market fill up with the bounty of our region plus crafts, music, and people,” says Karrie Larsson, Market Manager at Otsego 2000. “We invite everyone to come to the Market to shop for Mother’s Day, we have a great selection of specialty foods, artisan gifts and home goods, flowers, plants, and more.” Larsson noted that there will be a Mother’s Day Raffle. The winner, selected at random at the end of the Market on Saturday, will receive a gift card to Art Farm Flowers, handmade soap from Red Sky Homestead, and more.

Located at 101 Main Street in Pioneer Alley, the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market is open on Saturdays throughout the year. Saturday hours are 9 am - 2 pm, May through December, and 10 am – 2pm January through April. In addition, during July, August, and September, the Market is open on Tuesdays from 12 pm – 5 pm.  SNAP/EBT is welcome at every Market.
